Happy Tooth/Sad Tooth Game
A fun game for talking about hygiene and healthy foods.
This game accompanies the Brush Your Teeth song from Sing and Play Purple.
Prepare the Game: Glue the backing sheets to the rear of the main game pages, cut out the teeth and food items, and laminate the pieces for durability.
Play the Game: Sit down with the kids and go through each food item, introducing it, asking the kids if they like it, and other simple questions. Then ask them if the food item is good or bad for their teeth, emphasizing the matching expressions for each category.
This is a flexible, non-scoring game meant to encourage conversation. It can be a good opportunity to practice “good” and “bad” vocabulary, especially as distinct from words like “yummy” or other taste words.
